Weddings of the Rockies F.A.Q.

Why should I hire 'Weddings of the Rockies' to videotape my wedding?

There is a difference between a competent, creative professional and someone who happens to own a nice camera.

We are proud of the fact that we handle every creative aspect of our business. We design and maintain our own website. We do our own titling and intro f/x. We author our own DVD's. We design our own packaging. We created our logo. We even took the photo on the website.

Will my finished video look like a Hollywood production?

Yes and No.

A movie production set is very different from a wedding. Extensive lighting is used. High end motion picture cameras are present everywhere. Cables litter the ground. A scene is often shot over and over again until everything is perfect. The purpose of a production set is to film the movie.

The purpose of a wedding is to join a couple in matrimony. There are no 'retakes' or 'take 3 scene 4' when videotaping a wedding. There are no huge lighting rigs in a church. The couple won't be going into a recording studio and reciting their vows 50 times. These are a few of the many differences between 'event videography' and motion pictures.

However, we approach the videotaping of weddings like we would the filming of a motion picture. We use planned camera angle coverage. We don't film like the typical home videographer. We also don't film weddings like they are newscasts. We do creative professional work that you'll be proud to show off.

Our DVD's are produced using professional DVD authoring software. This software is very different from the home DVD software sold locally. It is much more powerful and allows for a more professional final product.

Do you charge more for extra camera coverage?

No. We videotape all weddings with 2 Panasonic AG-DVX100 camera's. Both camera's are manned.

Are you unobtrusive when you videotape?

Generally yes, but it really depends on the needs of the couple.

For example, the bride and groom may request a very close intimate taping of the vows. Doing this may require that we videotape in close proximity to the couple. If this is what the couple desires, we will comply.

Typically we videotape as not to obstruct the views of any guest or impact the proceedings in any way. We try to go unnoticed.
